Would you like to savor the authentic flavors of Reggio Emilia's gastronomy? This experience is the perfect answer!
Embark on a culinary journey through the heart of Reggio Emilia city center, visiting three different stops at the most historical and renowned food shops and taverns in town.
Our first stop in the afternoon is "Casa Del Miele" (meaning "Honey House"). Established in 1947, it is undoubtedly the oldest confectionery shop in town. At first glance, you'll want to try everything! Indulge in chocolates, pralines, sweets, handmade cookies, cakes, jams, and, of course, a wide variety of honey. And don't miss the must-try local liquor, the traditional "Anisetta Cocchi," with its unique anise flavor, available exclusively here!
Next, we'll make our way to a charcuterie shop. This traditional establishment specializes in cold cuts, cured meats, Parmigiano Reggiano cheese, and the renowned local wine, Lambrusco. All of these delicacies are produced by the Pancaldi Family in the hills of Reggio Emilia.
Last but certainly not least, we'll visit Food in Chiostri, located in the impressive Chiostri di San Pietro. This recently restored Renaissance building now serves as a central venue for main events and exhibitions. Here, the chef and bartender of Pause Atelier dei Sapori will prepare for you the one and only Erbazzone Reggiano, perfectly paired with our local white wine, Spergolino. And as a delightful surprise, there's a sweet treat waiting for you!
