What We'll Do
Enjoy a delicious and fun multicultural dinner banquet and support retraining refugees!
Join a small group of up to 12 locals and travellers and enjoy a tasty two-course banquet at bohemian cafe Parliament on King. You'll sample food from the homelands of asylum seekers and refugees (think Burmese/Rohingya, Iraqi, Iranian, Indian, Nepali, Sri Lankan, Ugandan and more). Parliament on King is run as a social enterprise, so all proceeds will be used to fund refugee and asylum seekers projects and training.
Parliament on King's mission is simple: to make lovely food. But in doing this they address the barriers to economic, social and cultural participation asylum seekers, refugees and recent arrivals to Australia face. As you can imagine, it can be pretty tough arriving here as an outsider, it can be a lonely and difficult thing. They face enormous barriers and Parliament on King's social catering is all about helping them overcome those barriers by providing real work, training and community.
