THE ADVENTURE COLLECTIVE® · Independent discovery and booking for outdoor travel

Read the full experience

The engine rumbles and the horizon tilts as the convoy slips off the tar and into sheets of iron-stained sand. Wind chisels the dunes into steep, curving ridges and the red sand seems to push back, daring you to climb it. You’ll ride a 1000cc Polaris four-seater across open desert guided by an experienced leader, trading city skyline for wide, empty lines of sand and a sun that makes colors pop.

Hydrate before you goDrink water before departure and carry a bottle — heat and sand can dehydrate you quickly during transfers and activity.

Wear closed-toe shoesClosed shoes protect feet from hot sand and provide grip when entering or exiting buggies and climbing small dunes.

Secure cameras and phonesUse straps or zip cases; sand and sudden jumps can damage electronics — bring a small dry bag for protection.

Recommended gear

Closed-toe hiking shoes: Protects feet from hot sand and provides traction when entering/exiting buggies.
Sunscreen (SPF 30+): High SPF shields skin from strong desert sun, especially during late afternoon transfers.
Sunglasses with strap: Protects eyes from glare and blowing sand; strap prevents loss during bumpy rides.
Light windbreaker or scarf: Useful for cooler desert nights and to block sand during windy stints.
