Heading off early, we tackle the journey with a brief stop at Campbell Town. Perfect to stretch the legs and grab a coffee!
The next iconic and historic slice of paradise we visit will be on the way to Tasmania’s capital, Hobart. 45 minutes south of Hobart is the small town of Bothwell. Within Bothwell, lies a destination so unique, we had to add it to our list of tours. Ratho Farm!
Ratho Farm is a destination, an experience. With the country's oldest golf course, accommodation in former convict barns and stables, and a classic highland homestead with lounges, you'll wish you had more time to explore. Ratho Farm has played host to some colourful characters ranging from Melbourne Cup winners, bushrangers, 100-year-old gardeners, fierce political debates, golfing royalty, and one of England's best-known artists.
In keeping with the traditions of Old Scotland, Ratho Farm remains a public course and is open to all, every day of the week. The newly re-opened course features a unique mix of holes, including the open and windswept old holes, restored original holes in a parkland setting, and four newly-designed holes along the Clyde riverbank towards neighboring Nant Distillery.
Following your round, which includes a scrumptious lunch half way round, we will make our way back to the gorgeous town of Launceston. But not before a few stops on the way back to enjoy a refreshment or two.
