The jeep eases down a sandy wash and the desert opens—copper walls cut by ancient water, wind-sculpted benches, and the small, bright town of Mitzpe Ramon hunkering on the rim. Guides unload ropes and radios beside the visitor center; behind them a steep abseil line dives straight into the heart of Wadi Ramon. You feel the rock’s heat and the wind’s insistence as you edge over and descend, the canyon framing a wide, silent landscape that dares you to look longer.
