Morning light sifts through tall deodar trunks as a narrow road peels away from Dharamshala and drops into the Kangra valley. In a little under an hour you’re standing on the village slope of Rakkh, where stone houses, a water-driven flour mill and a small Shiva shrine anchor everyday life against the serrated backdrop of the Dhauladhar.
