The engine thumps to life and the coastline of La Saline-Les-Bains unfurls: a string of blue lagoon, black volcanic outcrops and low coastal scrub. On a two-seat, road-approved automatic quad you follow a coastal ribbon—sandy tracks, short paved stretches and reef-facing viewpoints—where the ocean seems to push toward the shore with every gust.
