You arrive on a wind-cut promontory where the Atlantic pulls at a low-angled shoreline and the colony basks on sun-warmed rocks. Sea lions vocalize like an impatient chorus; juveniles dart through foam while bulls lounge, daring the surf to push them back. The reserve is about 20 km (roughly a 20–30 minute drive) from central Puerto Madryn, typically reached by car or tour transfer.
