Experience a unique Halloween adventure with a spooky evening paddle on Saxapahaw Lake! Bring your carved jack-o-lantern to attach to your boat and enjoy the eerie tranquility of the river at night. This beginner-friendly trip welcomes all skill levels, making it a memorable outing for ages 13 and up.
Bring your own carved jack-o-lantern and attach it to the back of your boat! This spooky evening paddle takes place only in Halloween season on Saxapahaw Lake. Guides will lead guests on a flat-water loop of leisurely paddling to experience the eerie stillness of the river at night. Guests are encouraged to bring fully carved jack-o-lanterns that can be attached to their boat (via duct tape), or any other spooky decorations they'd like to add. Single kayaks, tandem kayaks, and canoes are available for use. Suitable for all skill levels.
Participants must be at least 12 years of age. All paddlers under the age of 18 that will not be accompanied by an adult will need to have a signed waiver from either a parent or legal guardian before they can participate in the trip.

A reservation can be rescheduled or canceled at least 24 hours in advance in order to receive full in-store credit towards a future trip or course. Cancellations or “no-shows” within 24 hours of a reservation will receive no credit or refund.
Use a waterproof box or wrapping to keep your pumpkin dry and intact during your paddle.
Temperatures can drop quickly at night on the water, so dress accordingly to stay warm and comfortable.
Lighting helps with navigation and safety during the night paddle but choose a hands-free option for convenience.
Getting settled well before sunset ensures you receive important instructions and pick your spot on the water.
Saxapahaw Lake derives from the Haw River’s long history as a regional hub for textile mills dating back to the early 1900s.
The event encourages minimal disturbance of wildlife and promotes Leave No Trace practices to protect the delicate lake ecosystem.
