What will you and your guests do?

Bomba is a traditional music and dance genre from Puerto Rico with African roots. It features a dynamic exchange between drummers and dancers, where dancers set the rhythm with their movements, and drummers respond. This vibrant art form is a powerful expression of cultural identity and heritage, often performed at community celebrations.

Instructors:

Jose Angel Catala: A passionate Bomba dancer and musician with over two decades of experience in Puerto Rican folklore.

Charlotte Serrano: A professional dancer from Puerto Rico, skilled in various dance genres.

Our classes provide a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the culture and dance of Puerto Rican Bomba. Whether you're a curious beginner or have prior experience, you're welcomed into a friendly and inviting environment to learn and enjoy this traditional art form.

Will guests need to bring anything to the experience?

*Water *Mosquito repellent *Something to cover up in case it gets chilly when the sun goes down *Comfortable shoes (avoid flip-flops) *Breathable clothes: Since Bomba dancing can be quite energetic, it's important to wear clothes that are breathable and allow you to move freely. Choose lightweight materials. *Phones fully charged and with enough memory for taking photos and videos

Note:

*Suitable for Ages 6+ *No experience or dance partner is necessary *Please dress appropriately for the occasion, and don't forget to bring water, sunscreen, and mosquito repellent. *Keep in mind that this location is open to the public, and you might find an audience admiring what you've learned. *Parking is free; however, using Uber as your means of transportation is highly recommended.

*From August 16th to March 31st class is from 5:30pm to 7:00pm. and From April 1st to August 15th, class is from 6:30pm to 8pm.

Schedule:

*30 min. for Arrival and preparation (Note: We provide the skirts.) *1 Hour Class Slot.

Location: “Playa El Último Trolley” at the José Celso Barbosa Park Stutue, FX22+CM3, Av. Las Américas, San Juan, 00911

Participants will meet at the statue and then walk to the beach for the class. Latecomers should stand with their backs to the statue, and walk right to the roundabout by the beach with palm trees and shade. There, they'll find us.

This outdoor experience is at your own risk. In case of rain, the class will be canceled and refunds given.

*Depending on seat availability, we offer door-to-door service or meeting at a pickup point. If applicable to your tour or excursion, we can pick you up directly from your hotel, Airbnb, or preferred location, provided it's along one of our established stops or routes.

*Please travel light and only bring the necessary items for the experience. Leave behind electronic devices, and any important documentation such as a passport, large sums of cash, or credit cards.

*We reserve the right of admission. If a person appears to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, not following instructions, causing disruptions, or not dressed appropriately, the guide has the right to cancel their reservation at any moment, and NO REFUNDS will be issued due to this.

*A complimentary drop-off in selected areas: San Juan: Condado, Isla Verde, Ocean Park, or Old San Juan.

CANCELATION POLICY:

*Follow the instructions in "Free Cancellation, Return, and Refund Information" to cancel or request a refund.

*Full refund if canceled up to 3 days before experience start time, or within 24 hours of booking made more than 48 hours before start time.

*80% refund for cancellations made less than 48 hours before start time.

*Single classes/packages are for individual use only; not shareable.

*Refunds are issued if the minimum traveler requirement isn't met.
