You start in Puerto Plata before sunrise, engine rumbling as a two-seater buggy punches across rutted farm tracks and coastal scrub. Wind pushes against your face; the guide points to a ridge where the Atlantic glints like a dare. Midday the forest closes in — vines tug at the canopy and the river below begins to claim your attention, urging you toward cool pools and natural chutes.
