Join me on my very popular Cheese "Shopping Walk in Amsterdam!
We’ll be buying high-quality cheese at a special cheese shop in Amsterdam. During the walk, I will show you around “tourist cheese shops” and explain the difference between those cheeses and the cheeses that we will buy. We will then visit a very special, and almost secret, wine shop that only stocks Dutch wine!
You'll learn about the different styles of cheeses, how they are made and what makes them special, how a cheese in a shop looks good (or past its best) and about the different types of Dutch cheese and what cheeses rinds are safe to eat (and which ones the rind is the best part!). There'll also be plenty of time for questions and for me to share some cheesy tales and as usual, a competition with a cheesy prize!
Dutch Wine? Yes, there are many wonderful Vineyards in the Netherlands producing mostly fresh and zingy white wines, but also some great reds and fortified wines too.
The price includes the walk and talk (approximately 60 minutes), cheeses to eat and 2 different wines (additional wines can be added on the day).
• The walk and talk will finish around 16:30 (but may go on later if there's lots of questions!) • Note that this event is not suitable for young children or dogs. • The talk will be given in English.
Come ready to sample a variety of cheeses and wines for a full tasting experience.
