About This Adventure

Embark on an exciting 7-hour kayaking adventure designed for beginners in a supportive environment. Learn essential paddling techniques, safety skills, and rescue methods before enjoying a guided practice paddle. With expert instruction in calm waters, you'll gain confidence and be ready for your own kayaking excursions by day's end.

About

Our gateway course to the sport of kayaking will give you the essential kayaking and safety skills you’ll need as a beginner paddler. The first half of the day will be spent learning and refining essential paddling strokes to maneuver your boat. After lunch, we’ll embark on a short paddle to practice newly acquired skills and learn group and unassisted rescues. Other topics covered include the proper way to empty a boat, launching, pre-paddle checklist and boat nomenclature. The course is taught in calm, protected water and by day’s end you’ll feel ready to head out on your own excursion. This is a full day class and lunch will be provided. Please arrive 10-15 minutes early to ensure you are on the water and ready to go by the start of class time.

What to Bring

-Water appropriate clothing for this activity including layers if the day starts off chilly. -Dry Bag -A PFD (We can provide one for you). -A Paddle (We can provide one for you). -Your Kayak (Must be a sea kayak to participate in this class. If you do not own a sea kayak we can provide one for you). -Hat -Sun Protection -Water Bottle - Please fill prior to your arrival.
