Less than an hour’s drive to the west of Melbourne is the stunning Yarra Valley. The rolling hills and majestic landscape are backdrop to a wonderful food and wine experience. The Yarra Valley is one of several wine destinations in Australia however unique in the fact that it is home to well known Domaine Chandon in Australia. Enjoy a private wine tasting in the famous Green Room situated inside Domaine, or visit any number of other boutique and organic world class cellar doors. Your private guide will tailor an authentic experience to suit you.

We depart Melbourne city for the short drive over to the renowned Yarra Valley. As we travel out of the city your guide will provide some background on Australia’s second most populated city. Soon we enter the Yarra Valley. Over 50 wineries are established in the valley, varying in size from small family vineyards to large international establishments. We will take time to show you the best the region has to offer.

One of our first winery stops for the day will be at Coldstream Hills. With a reputation for producing outstanding single vineyard and reserve wines Coldstream Hills has a particular focus on the internationally heralded varieties, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Next we’ll go to Domaine Chandon – established by French champagne house Moët & Chandon in 1986, this scenic winery set amongst the verdant hills of the Yarra Valley is dedicated to traditional production methods of cool climate still wines.

Lunch today is at Yering Station. Set within stunning architecture, this signature restaurant overlooks expansive and magnificent views of the Yarra Ranges. Yering Station’s Head Chef, Laura Webb-James, designs tempting menus making the most of the fresh, seasonal produce available from the region. The afternoon will be ours to enjoy. There are many other wineries on offer or maybe you will prefer a visit to one of the many produce stores. Your guide will make some suggestions to finish up your afternoon. Return to your hotel after a great day amongst the vineyards.
