Steam peels back from the wooden door and the scent of pine and hot birch greets you — the kind of heat that presses pleasantly against your skin before you step into sunlight so sharp it sings. A hand-carved ice hole gapes at the shoreline nearby, the surface glassy except where guide-cut steps promise a bracing plunge.
