The drive out from Philadelphia takes about 30 minutes depending on traffic. Your tour will always include a drive around Valley Forge National Historic Park where you will see regimental monuments and re-creations of the huts used by the troops who camped here. You’ll have many opportunities to get out, explore, and take photos across the park. You’ll visit the site of George Washington’s headquarters and the Washington Memorial Chapel, built in the early 1900's to commemorate this unique part of history. Throughout your drive, your guide will share stories and historical information. You'll also have a stop at the park's Visitor Center, where you can see a short movie about the encampment, browse in the store and visit the museum area.
A longer tour can also include a visit to Fairmount Park, time to explore the beautiful and eclectic neighborhoods of Chestnut Hill, Manayunk, or Mount Airy, or a drive to some of Philadelphia's Must-See Spots in Center City.
