The Port of Long Beach grew in the 20th century from oil and rail infrastructure into a major cargo and cruise facility; terminals were adapted over time to handle both industry and passengers.
Port operations now include air-quality and water-quality programs; choosing private transfers that follow local idling and emissions guidelines helps reduce the visit’s environmental impact.
