Pack a small carry-onKeep valuables, medications and a light layer in a daypack since hold luggage may be stowed in the vehicle’s rear compartment.

Plan for restroom stopsDrivers may make short stops on request, but public restrooms along the route can be basic—carry hand sanitizer and small change.

Expect coastal breezes on arrivalBring a light windbreaker for late-afternoon seaside conditions; temperatures can drop once you reach the peninsula.
