About

Departure from Lisbon towards SINTRA, a Portuguese village that enchants everyone with its hills full of Palaces, Castle and Manor Gardens. Pena National Palace, located at the top of the Sintra mountains and the fruit of the dreams of an artist, King Fernando II, the Park and the Pena Palace are the greatest exponent in Portugal of the century XIX.

Must stop for those visiting the romantic and mysterious Sintra Village. After visiting the Park and Pena Palace, composer Richard Strauss wrote:"Today is the happiest day of my life. It's the most beautiful thing I've seen. This is the true Klingsor Garden – and there, up on high, is the Holy Grail Castle."

In the time between visits to the monuments, you can stroll through the narrow winding streets in the old town where you will find a variety of restaurants, shops with typical articles of the region and the famous “Piriquita” Tea House, known for their delicious regional pastry called "Travesseiros de Sintra", a must for anyone visiting Sintra.

Cabo da Roca is 18 km west of Sintra. This cape forms the westernmost extent of mainland Portugal and continental Europe. The famous Portuguese poet Luís de Camões wrote in the XVI century that this cape is: “Where land ends and sea begins". The windswept cliffs of the Cape Roca were believed to be the edge of the world.

Marvel at Boca do Inferno (Hell's Mouth). This coastal recess surrounded by steep cliffs and caves attracts many visitors. You may be lucky and visit this mysterious site on a day where the waves rush against the rocks.

Afterwards we go discover Cascais, a lively and cosmopolitan town, which still retains its aristocratic trace.
