Escape the city and see a side of northern Portugal that most first-time visitors miss during a visit to the Douro Valley: the same itinerary as our best-selling tour, but now as a fully private tour dedicated solely to you and your group!
You will be picked up at your hotel or accommodation in Porto city in the early morning, at 8:00 AM. Your guide will introduce themselves and explain the daily itinerary to you. The journey begins towards the Douro, where you will learn more about the region along the way.
As part of the itinerary, we will visit two local wine estates, one in the morning and another in the afternoon, before returning to Porto. At both estates, you will be accompanied by a specialized local guide who will tell you more about the winemaking process while you taste the selected wines.
At lunchtime, we stop in the village of Pinhão, a historic village in the heart of the Douro, where lunch takes place in a traditional local restaurant serving typical Portuguese cuisine, including a choice of fish, meat, or vegetarian meal (we can also accommodate your meal if you have a gluten-free diet – please inform us in advance).
We also make brief stops for photo opportunities and to admire the surroundings and nature at local viewpoints and other points of interest throughout the day.
Return to your accommodation in Porto around 6:00 PM, assured that you have lived a memorable experience filled with knowledge about wine, landscape, and the local culture of this beautiful and unforgettable destination.
