Temecula Valley’s modern viticulture re-emerged in the mid-20th century and the region earned AVA status in the 1980s, growing into a mix of boutique and established wineries.
Wineries in the valley increasingly practice water management and cover-cropping; visitors can reduce impact by staying on paths, disposing of waste properly, and supporting producers using sustainable practices.
