This land of fishermen, whose main specialization is fishing for black scabbardfish, owes its fame to the fishermen who paint the bay with their picturesque and very characteristic boats - the Xavelhas.
Lugar de Baixo one of the warmest areas of Madeira Island where the beach is mainly made up of pebbles. Madalena do Mar is a characteristic fishing village with a beautiful promenade along the pebble beach. Its location and the corresponding climate helped it to become one of the biggest banana producers in Madeira Island.
In Calheta we can see one of the yellow sand beaches that delight many. From the parish of Prazeres to Ponta do Pargo, we travel through the most forgotten part of the island in tourism, with breathtaking landscapes.
