Tour Summary:

Join us to explore the stunning island of Kvaløya and the archipelago Sommarøy on this scenic, summer fjord tour. Tour starts with a hotel pick up at your central hotel. Travel safely and in comfort in one of our luxury vehicles. You will be entertained along the way as you listen to a live, personalised commentary by your local guide who is an expert in Arctic nature, history, and culture. Take in the fresh, clean air and the breath-taking views of endless Arctic fjords, rugged mountains, white sandy beaches and countless islands. You won’t be able to resist capturing the colourful summer landscape full of local plants, trees and wildflowers through your lens. And if you don’t have a camera, we will take the photos for you! Before exploring the archipelago of Sommarøy, your host will take you on a short, but extremely rewarding hike with spectacular views. After that, have a delicious local lunch on Sommarøy with post-card perfect views over the islands. After lunch, continue your round-trip on “whale island” along the remote Southern coastline passing traditional local farms. Return to Tromsø in the afternoon fulfilled by a day of stunning Arctic scenery, tasty local food, knowledge about local culture and history and hopefully some new friendships. Your host will drop you off at your hotel in the city centre.

As we are in the Arctic please wear wind and rainproof clothes, and comfortable hiking shoes- layers are key even during the summer months!

Please bring: some water in a reusable bottle for the hike, we can refill bottles during lunch.

Bear in mind:

  • Only guaranteed toilet break is during lunch
  • Tour includes an easy short walk
  • We may cancel if the weather conditions are dangerous, such as strong wind
  • We cannot guarantee you see wildlife such as eagles, reindeers, moose etc.
