Wake on the coastal wind as the van slips out of Tulum toward the low wetlands of Sian Ka'an. After a short orientation at the park entrance the road turns to packed earth; the guide's voice recedes beneath birdsong and the engine's rattle. You arrive at a palm-fringed launch and step onto a shallow-hulled boat that slides into mangrove labyrinths where water pushes and pulls like a living map.
