You push off from a narrow landing and the gondolier’s oar slices the green water, the city’s Baroque façades sliding past like stage scenery. For 30 minutes you ride the Grand Canal and quieter side-ríos, the wake whispering, the singer’s voice rising from a nearby gondola to meet the water.
easy.
30 minutes.
Suitable for all fitness levels; must be able to step into and out of a low, narrow boat.
Yes—the booking reserves a gondola for your group only (typically up to 4–6 people); seats are allocated by the gondolier for balance.
Musicians usually board one central gondola to perform for the group rather than every boat; you’ll hear live singing during the tour.
Tours do not operate in heavy rain, extreme high tide (acqua alta) or during gondolier strikes; organizers will rearrange or refund as per the cancellation policy.
This tour is not recommended for wheelchair users or people with significant walking disabilities due to narrow boarding points and boat access.
Gondolas became the city’s primary transport in the Middle Ages; their black lacquer and ornate prows evolved under strict guild rules in the 17th–18th centuries.
Venice’s lagoon is fragile—avoid littering, respect local access rules and be mindful of wake created by boats to reduce erosion and disturbance.
