Adventure tips

Bring valid IDCalifornia tastings require government-issued ID; drivers should plan accordingly if staying sober.

Hydrate between tastingsSip water between flights and pack a reusable bottle — the tour provides bottled water but refilling saves money and plastic.

Dress in layersCoastal mornings can be cool while inland terraces warm quickly; a light jacket and sun protection work well.

Plan logistics aheadConfirm pick-up/drop-off points and any extra stops with the driver to avoid day-of fees or timing conflicts.

Recommended gear

Government ID (driver’s license or passport): Required for alcohol service and to verify age at tastings.
Comfortable walking shoes: Many tasting rooms have gravel, lawns, or small steps between venues.
Sunscreen and sunglasses: Open terraces and valley sun can be strong even on cool days.
Light jacket or windbreaker: Coastal breezes and late-afternoon chills are common in shoulder seasons.
