Fajardo began as a small agrarian and fishing settlement with Spanish-era ties; today it’s the primary launch point for nearby cays and the protected Laguna Grande.
Laguna Grande is actively managed to protect its bioluminescent organisms—avoid soaps, sunscreens, and bright lights near the water and follow guide instructions to limit impact.
