You step off the dock in Nassau as the harbor light slices through warm, salty air; the boat eases away and the city’s colors slide aft. Within minutes the sea opens and the islands begin to rise from low horizons—pale sandbars, scrubby dunes and reefs that hum with life. The captain plots a short loop: Athol Island, Sandy Cay, Green Cay and Rose Island, each stop an invitation to swim, snorkel or simply let the ocean move you.
