The yacht slips away from the quay and the Tiber takes you through Rome like an old, courteous guide—arches, bridges and façades sliding past while the city hums at a human scale. Couples on deck tilt toward one another as the skipper turns the bow toward a line of monuments: low bridges, the curve of the river island, and glimpses of the Vatican dome rising above the skyline.
