Operated by SNL Jamaican Tours · Rio Bueno, Trelawny
You step out of the shaded pick-up van and the air changes—wet, warm, threaded with reggae and the green scent of riverwood. The Rio Bueno runs loud and lively, cutting through Trelawny’s limestone hills before slipping past a quiet white-sand inlet at Bengal Bay. Guides load boats and boards; the river dares you forward with a string of playful rapids and deep, calm pools.

The north-coast bays were charted in the late 1400s; Rio Bueno’s fresh springs earned its name and the area later became a corridor between plantations and the coast.
Operators encourage leaving no trace—avoid single-use plastics and use biodegradable sunscreen to protect river and coastal habitats.
