Adventure tips

Use reef-safe sunscreenApply biodegradable, reef-safe sunscreen before boarding—sunscreen chemicals harm corals and are banned in many protected areas.

Choose a morning departureCalmer winds and clearer water are more likely in the morning, improving visibility for snorkeling.

Secure motion-sensitive belongingsBring a dry bag or leave electronics with the driver—boat wakes and splashes can soak loose items.

Listen to your guide on buoyancyThe private guide will advise how to float and move to avoid touching coral—follow their cues to protect reef and self.

Recommended gear

Reef-safe sunscreen: Protects your skin while preventing chemical damage to corals.
Rash guard or swim top: Provides sun protection and a barrier against minor scrapes from fins or coral.
Snorkel mask (well-fitted): A comfortable mask improves visibility—many operators provide gear, but a personal fit reduces leaks.
Water shoes or reef sandals: Helpful on rocky shore entries and walking the town after snorkeling.
