Dawn arrives in Drake Bay as a low mist lifts off the rainforest canopy and a battered 4x4 bumps you down a rural track toward Los Planes. The forest opens without fanfare — towering buttress roots, broad leaves beading with condensation, and the distant call of howler monkeys daring you deeper. Your guide moves quietly, reading tracks and broken branches like sentences in the forest’s diary.

The experience is about six hours total, typically starting with a 6:30 a.m. pickup from accommodations in Drake Bay and includes round-trip 4x4 transport.
