A morning on the Amalfi Coast begins with the boat rocking gently against Positano’s beach pier, the town’s pastel houses stacked like theater seats above you. The crew casts off and the coastline opens: cliffs erode into coves, citrus scents lift on the breeze, and the Tyrrhenian Sea flashes turquoise as Capri draws near.

Capri’s prominence rose in Roman times as an imperial retreat; its cliffs and grottos became fashionable escapes for artists and travelers in the 19th–20th centuries.
Respect anchoring rules and use reef-safe products; overcrowding at popular grottoes has prompted regulated access to protect fragile marine and geological features.
