The Amalfi Coast grew from medieval maritime trade—Amalfi was a maritime republic whose seafaring shaped local architecture and commerce.
This coastline hosts Posidonia seagrass beds; avoid anchoring on meadows, use licensed operators, and choose reef‑safe sunscreens to reduce impact.
