A salt-stung wind meets the car as it turns north out of Boston, and the day opens toward a rocky coast where fishing vessels carve the horizon. On this private full-day tour, travelers move from city streets to a shoreline that alternates sandy strands with boulder-strewn headlands — Gloucester’s working harbor giving way to Rockport’s painter-friendly coves.

Walking is light to moderate: short harbor promenades and trail sections on rocky beaches; most of the day is driven between stops.

Infant seats are available on request; the tour is mostly accessible but some shoreline areas have uneven terrain — notify the operator of mobility needs when booking.
Gloucester’s identity centers on a commercial fishing fleet active since colonial times; Rockport grew as a granite quarrying town and later as an artist colony.
Coastal habitats here are sensitive—respect nesting areas, stay off marked dunes, and pack out trash; local groups work to protect shorebird nesting sites and water quality.
