On a private four-hour night photography tour you move between Nauset Light, Cape Cod Light, the Three Sisters, Stage Harbor and Hardings Beach, shooting long exposures and learning light-painting techniques. The outer Cape’s exposed coast and low horizon make it one of New England’s best Milky Way-facing corridors when the moon is absent; with a brighter moon, the scene shifts to dramatic moonlit seascapes and shadowed dunes.
Cape Cod’s geology—glacially carved moraines, beach ridges and kettle ponds—frames each composition. Lighthouses here date to the 19th century and were built to guide whalers, fishermen and coastal traders; at night they read differently, their forms softened or sharpened by the angle of moonlight.
