Adventure Tips

Book Private Tours Early

iSea Yachting limits group sizes for an intimate experience; reserve your spot well in advance to secure your preferred date.

Bring Sun Protection

The boat offers shade, but sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat are essential for daytime cruises along exposed water.

Prepare for Gentle Seas

Expect slow, calm cruising but light boat movement; if sensitive to motion, consider anti-nausea options.

Pack a Camera with Zoom

Wildlife sightings can happen at distance; a camera with good zoom capabilities captures flamingos and shorebirds best.

Local Insights

Wildlife

  • Greater flamingos
  • Iberian lynx (rare but occasionally spotted in the broader Algarve region)

History

Ria Formosa has been protected since 1987, safeguarding its role as a critical habitat for migratory birds and local fisheries.

Conservation

The park enforces strict regulations to maintain water quality and protect nesting areas, supporting sustainable tourism and wildlife preservation.
