Adventure tips

Start earlyMorning departures avoid midday heat and make river light better for photos; plan pickup accordingly.

Hydrate and paceCarry at least 1–2 liters of water — humidity and sun on the open river can deplete energy fast.

Bring a small waterproof bagProtect phones and wallets during boat transfers and short rain squalls common in the wet season.

Cash for small purchasesMarkets, honey tea donations and some small vendors accept only cash (VND); ATMs are limited in villages.

Recommended gear

Lightweight rain jacket: Keeps you dry during sudden tropical showers and shields against river spray.
Wide-brim sun hat and sunglasses: Sun protection for open stretches on the motorboat and riverside lunches.
Closed-toe walking shoes: Handles muddy village paths and boarding small boats more securely than sandals.
Waterproof phone case or dry bag: Protects electronics during transfers and in case of splashes or light rain.
