Arion Riding Centre can supply helmets and riding boots if you do not have your own. An approved safety helmet is compulsory when riding and is recommended when children are handling ponies. Footwear must be suitable and safe, both for riding and when working around ponies. Jodhpur boots are ideal, or failing this, solid boots with a smooth sole and solid heel. Boots with cleated soles or shoes without heels are unsuitable. Long pants must be worn and tops must be suitable and at minimum cover the shoulders. Singlets or shorts are not permitted.
Solid boots with smooth soles and heels provide safety when handling and riding horses; avoid cleated soles or open shoes.
Early arrival allows time to get fitted for helmets and boots and to meet your instructor in a relaxed manner.
Wearing an approved safety helmet is mandatory during rides to protect against falls or impact.
Long pants and tops covering shoulders are required to prevent scrapes and sun exposure when riding or handling horses.
