Private Lemur Birthday Parties at the Safari Park in Bonham

Read the full experience

Just outside the town of Bonham, Texas, the Safari Park offers an intimate, hands-on birthday option: Birthday Parties — two-hour private guided visits inside the park’s lemur exhibit. Led by guide Sonora, these sessions place your group face-to-face with playful ringtail lemurs: feed them, pet them, and maybe have one jump on you. The experience is built for families and small groups; party bookings are $600 for two hours for up to 20 guests, with additional guests at $18 each, and a minimum guest age of five. Note that this is an add-on to general admission—everyone in your party needs a GA ticket to enter. The lemur exhibit is the centerpiece: compact, walk-through, and designed for close observation and safe, supervised interaction. Ringtail lemurs are active, curious animals; Sonora’s guidance keeps the session orderly and rich with learning moments about lemur behavior, diet, and social structure. Parties are private and guided, which makes them ideal for birthday photo ops, family groups, or school-age celebrations, and the Safari Park allows outside food and drinks in the party area so you can bring a cake and picnic. Practical details matter: the scheduled time is two hours, and the group maximum listed for parties is 20 guests per the booking fee, though the facility can accommodate up to 40 people overall with adjustments and per-person charges. Plan to buy GA tickets separately and arrive early to check in; meeting point specifics are provided after booking. The interaction is hands-on but supervised—expect to wash hands before and after contact and follow staff directions for animal welfare. Why book this in Bonham? The Safari Park’s lemur encounter offers a rare, close-up primate experience in North Texas without the logistical weight of a long trip to a larger zoo. For locals and visitors looking for a memorable group outing, the controlled, educational nature of the party makes it easy to celebrate with wildlife safely and respectfully. It’s also a chance to support a local facility that keeps small exotic animals engaged and cared for through public programs. Whether you’re organizing a kid’s birthday with a twist or an intimate animal-focused celebration, this party option pairs a short, accessible schedule with one-of-a-kind encounters. Bookings go fast for weekend slots; consult the park’s calendar at booking to confirm availability and the required general admission ticket policy. Bring a small cooler for the party area, since picnic tables are available or assigned after check-in; the park welcomes outside food and drink for celebratory gatherings. If you want a photogenic moment, ask Sonora for a group photo window when the lemurs are engaged—staff can time feedings to boost activity. Confirm final guest counts before payment to avoid extra per-person fees.
