-Experience Yellowstone’s Lamar Valley, the most wildlife-rich area in North America, with expert naturalist guides who bring the landscape to life. Our small-group hike offers an immersive way to explore this iconic valley, known as “America’s Serengeti,” with opportunities to see bison, elk, pronghorn, bears, wolves, moose, and more.

While wildlife sightings from your vehicle are common in the park, our hike offers a unique opportunity to step out of your car and experience Yellowstone’s wildlife in a whole new way. Our trek takes you across rolling meadows, sagebrush flats, and gentle ridges, allowing you to observe wildlife from a safe distance while soaking in the valley’s stunning scenery. You’ll have the chance to see animals up close yet from afar, using high-quality binoculars and a spotting scope, all with the guidance of an experienced naturalist.

This six-mile moderate hike includes some gentle uphill terrain and is perfect for those who want a unique, active way to explore Yellowstone’s wildlife beyond the roads. Whether you’re hoping to witness a wolf pack in action, a grizzly in the distance, or herds of bison moving across the valley, this tour provides the best chance to see it all in the most authentic and engaging way possible.

The Lamar Valley Hiking Adventure is located about 20 minutes east of Tower Junction or 15 minutes west of the North-east Entrance and about 1 hour southwest of Gardiner, MT.
