The morning opens cold and clear on Saco Bay, gulls arguing above the water as the tide slides out. Your guide ties a fly while the boat idles just off the mouth of the Saco River — the current nudging you toward gamey green water where striped bass patrol. In two hours the trip moves from instruction to pursuit: casting into tidal seams, reading the angle of light on ripples, and feeling the sudden, solid yank when a fish commits.
