The first paddle stroke parts a dark mirror of water and light; cypress knees puncture the surface like a crowd of slow-moving guardians, and Spanish moss drifts as if taking its own time. On Caddo Lake, a private kayak or canoe tour drops you into the largest bald cypress forest in the world, where channels thread between cathedral-sized trunks and lily pads float like green islands under the sun.

Caddo Lake occupies a floodplain once inhabited by the Caddo people and later shaped by 19th-century logging and steamboat commerce that altered access and settlement patterns.
The lake’s swamp ecosystem is sensitive to shoreline erosion and pollution; staying in marked channels and using non-motorized craft helps protect submerged roots and aquatic plants.
Canoe Caddo operates guided outdoor trips and adventures with an emphasis on safety, stewardship, and memorable experiences.
