Hydrate and pace yourselfRajasthan sun is relentless—bring a refillable water bottle and take short breaks on long climbs at Amer and Nahargarh forts.

Recommended gear

Comfortable walking shoes: Sturdy shoes help on uneven palace courtyards, fort stairways, and market streets.
Refillable water bottle: Keeps you hydrated during long stretches between shaded stops; many guides can refill it.
Sun protection (hat & sunscreen): Rajasthan sun is strong; UV protection reduces fatigue and risk of sunburn.
Light scarf or shawl: Covers shoulders in temples and provides modest warmth on cooler mornings.
