A rotor hum grows from the Manhattan skyline as the helicopter lifts you over the Hudson, Manhattan’s geometry shrinking into blocks and bridges. Glass towers glint while the East River tugs at the city’s edge; beyond, the long sweep of Long Island Sound waits, its surface catching light like stretched foil. In under an hour you cross boroughs and sea into the lawns of a Gold Coast estate where clipped hedges and mature oaks stand watch.
