Adventure tips

Start early, expect a long dayPickup from Hanoi is typically 8:00–8:30; the round trip includes ~3.5 hours each way plus 4–5 hours cruising—plan for 8–11 hours total.

Bring motion‑sickness remediesOpen sea and ferry transfers can be choppy; salt tablets or ginger and an anti‑emetic can make the day more comfortable.

Wear non‑slip shoesCave steps and boat decks get wet—light, grippy footwear prevents slips during boarding and exploring.

Respect floating villagesAsk before photographing residents, follow guides when entering water homes, and avoid touching nets or aquaculture structures.

Recommended gear

Refillable water bottle: Keeps you hydrated during long transfer and on‑deck cruising.
Sun hat and sunscreen: Protection from strong tropical sun while on deck and kayaking.
Non‑slip water shoes: Useful for boarding, sampan rides, and slippery cave steps.
Light waterproof jacket: Wind and drizzle are common outside peak season; a lightweight shell cuts spray and wind chill.
