The best of the Costa Brava and Girona and a proven hit with all ages and interests! The Costa Brava, the “rugged coast,” is named as such due to its high, sheer cliffs, and numerous rocky coves is home to small medieval towns, fishing villages, and secluded beaches, most of which are largely only reachable by boat or narrow coastal trails. Being one of the few authentic and pristine coastlines in the western Mediterranean, our small group and private day trips and tours to the Costa Brava and Girona take guests to experience charming fishing villages, local markets, city gardens, short walks to secluded beaches, and great panoramic lookout points over this Mediterranean paradise. Girona City tours take you through the rich history of one of Spain’s most charming, medieval walled cities that has been very well preserved since it was founded by the Romans in the 1st century. You’ll wind through the narrow stone streets of the old quarter and see Girona highlights such as the Cathedral, Roman and medieval wall, Rambla de la Llibertat, Onyar River houses and bridges, Jewish Heritage Museum, and more. Prior to exploring Girona, an optional three-course lunch is served in Girona city at a great traditional restaurant with wine, big salads, olives, grilled meats, or the fresh fish dishes, which many guests qualify as their best meal while in Spain!
Spanish Trails® offers this exciting experience as small-group day trips and as private tours from Barcelona to explore and experience the Costa Brava and Girona. These are all-day experiences with a maximum of eight guests on the non-private tours. This is a great day trip option for all ages of travelers with varying cultural, religious, and architectural interests.
Costa Brava and Girona day tours have been one of our biggest hits since Spanish Trails beginning in 2001 and are great options all year round.
