History

Frankfurt’s Old Town was largely reconstructed after WWII; the Römer and surrounding squares reflect both medieval layouts and 20th‑century rebuilding, while brewing traditions in Hesse coexist with a strong Apfelwein (apple wine) heritage.

Conservation

Support small local breweries and dispose of glass responsibly; many venues participate in city recycling and ask patrons to avoid littering on historic pavements.
