Adventure tips

Time your visitStart early or late in summer to avoid the midday heat — Jebel Hafeet is significantly cooler at the summit.

Hydration and sun protectionCarry water and high-SPF sunscreen; shade is sparse between sites and the sun intensifies on the mountain road.

Respect museum rulesPhotography and touching exhibits can be restricted in museums and forts—follow signage and your guide’s instructions.

Comfortable footwearBring closed shoes with decent grip for uneven adobe floors and garden paths in the oasis.

Recommended gear

Lightweight sun hat: Shields face and neck during outdoor walking and the mountain viewpoint.
Reusable water bottle: Staying hydrated is crucial in the desert climate between stops.
Comfortable walking shoes: Necessary for adobe floors, oasis paths, and short walks at forts and markets.
Light layer or windbreaker: Summit of Jebel Hafeet can be breezy and cooler, especially in winter mornings and evenings.
