The morning begins at Mori-no-Kuni, where a small cluster of families gather beneath cedar eaves and the instructor’s bright jacket promises structure to the day. A short vehicle run delivers you to the white-blanketed base of Daisen White Ski Resort; the mountain, an eroded volcanic massif, holds the winter cold like a reserve, and the slopes open before you.
